Front-end development with React and Next.js

I turn designs into web interfaces with React, Next.js and TypeScript. I connect pages, components and CMS content, taking the interface from desktop and mobile layouts through to deployment.

The front-end is the part of a website people interact with. My work includes components, responsive layouts and the data integrations defined for the project. Rendering, CMS and hosting choices depend on the content and on who will maintain it.

Who I work with

Businesses, entrepreneurs and independent professionals who need a custom website or want to turn a Figma design into a working interface. I can also work on part of a front-end when a design or backend services already exist.

What’s included

  • Responsive components and pages defined in the approved design.
  • Integration with the CMS or APIs agreed in the technical scope.
  • Navigation, interface states and interactions.
  • Build and deployment configuration for the agreed environment, with checks on the published website.

How I work

  1. Technical scope

I review the design, content, APIs and hosting environment. We establish which parts are available and which need to be built.

  2. Components and integration

I build the pages and connect their content, checking layouts, navigation and interface states at the planned screen sizes.

  3. Checks and deployment

I run the build and agreed checks, deploy to the selected environment and verify public pages and assets. Ongoing maintenance needs its own agreed scope.

Frequently asked questions

Can you develop a website from a Figma design?

Yes. I can turn a Figma design into responsive pages and components. Before development, I check that content, interactive states and behaviour at different screen sizes have been defined.

When does Next.js make sense?

Next.js is an option when a project needs server-rendered pages, routing and integration with content sources. It is not mandatory: features, hosting and editorial workflows should inform the choice.

Can I edit the text without changing code?

Yes, when a CMS is included. This website is a working example: WordPress and ACF manage content while Next.js renders the public interface. The connection and deployment need to be configured together.

Does front-end development automatically make a website fast and accessible?

No. Performance and accessibility depend on content, images, interactions, infrastructure and actual checks. We define the verification scope for the project; a framework alone does not guarantee an outcome.

What should I send for a development estimate?

Send the design if available, the page list, required features, CMS or APIs to connect and the planned hosting. Include deadlines and details of anything already built.
